My roommate suggested a whole bunch of great restaurants around West LA to me. Since I haven’t been to a nice restaurant in months, we decided to go check out one of the restaurants she recommended, Fat Fish . Fat Fish is located on N. Robertson at W. Hollywood, pretty close to Melrose and some W. Hollywood night clubs. It’s an Japanese fusion restaurant, which serves Japanese sushi rolls with western style entrees.
According to my roommate, their fruit martinis are one of the best in town. I ordered a lychee martini and Homer ordered a mohito (cocktail drink mixed with mango and mint). The martini was too strong for me, but the mohito was really good! It didn’t have any taste of alcohol in it at all. We also ordered a sushi roll for appetizer, Japanese style snapper and New York steak with peppercorn sauce for our entrees. The snapper was really good! Hands down to the best snapper I ever had! It was cooked just about right, with crunchy skin on the outside and soft tender meat on the inside, mix with special miso sauce. Every bit felt like the fish meat was about to melt in my mouth. The New York steak was very good too! Juicy tender meat with the tasty peppercorn sauce. Two thumbs up for the chef’s creativity!
My overall experience at Fat Fish was pretty good. The service was just ok though. Our waitress finished her shift during our meal and we sat there for another extra hour before someone finally noticed us. But I would still recommend Fat Fish to everyone!
